1. Overview

MyAsphaltCalc ("we", "us" or "our") operates myasphaltcalc.com, a free online asphalt tonnage and cost calculator. This privacy policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it and how we handle it.

We built this site around a simple principle: you should not have to share personal information to calculate how much asphalt your driveway needs. The calculator itself runs entirely in your browser and works without an account, without a login and without handing over your personal details.

2. Information we collect

The calculator is a client-side tool — your measurements, unit selections and cost figures are processed in your browser and never sent to our servers. We do not store your calculations.

We do collect a small amount of information in two situations:

• Contact form submissions — when you email us through the contact page, you provide your name, email address and the content of your message. This data is processed by Formspree, our third-party form processor, so we can respond to you.
• Standard technical data — like most websites we use analytics that collect anonymous, aggregated information such as pages visited, approximate country of origin, device type and browser. This data cannot identify you personally.

3. How we use your information

Any information you submit through the contact form is used for one purpose only: to respond to your message. We will not use your email address to send marketing material unless you explicitly ask us to.

Technical and analytics data is used to understand how visitors use the site — which sections are useful, where people drop off and whether the site performs well — so we can improve it. It is reviewed in aggregate only.

4. Cookies and tracking

MyAsphaltCalc uses minimal tracking. We do not run advertising networks, and we do not build advertising profiles.

We use a local storage preference to remember whether you have chosen the dark theme, and analytics tools may place small, anonymous cookies to measure site traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time without affecting the core calculator.

5. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share data only with the third-party services required to run the site:

• Formspree — processes contact form submissions. Their privacy policy applies to the handling of your message.
• Hosting and analytics providers — store and process anonymous technical data on our behalf. They are contractually bound not to use it for their own purposes.

We will only disclose personal information where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

6. Data retention

Contact form messages are retained only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry and provide a reasonable follow-up window. Anonymous analytics data is retained by our providers in line with their retention policies.

If you would like your contact details and correspondence removed from our records, contact us and we will delete them within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal obligations to retain them.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over the personal information we hold, including the right to access, correct or delete it, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, get in touch through the contact page. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and will never penalise you for making a privacy request.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the small amount of information that passes through this site. The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are transmitted over encrypted connections.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s privacy

MyAsphaltCalc is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the site, the law or our practices. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Significant changes will be called out on the site itself.
